Read all about our town's history!
The town of Pineview was established in 1892 when Jayden Hawke Park, an English settler, was granted a half-section of farm land between the North and South Saskatchewan Rivers in 1890.
It was on this piece of land where the new settlement would take root. Park established a small stopping place for the stagecoaches and traders that connected North Battleford to Saskatoon.
It became known as Hawke's Place, later renamed to Pineview after its first election. Park was elected to serve as Pineview's first mayor in 1905 after Hawke's Place became an established village.
Today the Pineview has a population of 13,830 (2009) and is a bustling, thriving city full of opportunities!
*A.N., should it be 2009? This website is supposed to be circa 1998-2004, right? So more like "10,240 (2001)" or something?
The city of Pineview is full or rich history! With local television, radio, and countless local businesses, there's a lot to detail from the town to archive!
With the advent of home computers and people making their own on-line web-sites for countless subjects and hobbies, we at the Pineview Historical Society wanted to take the chance to archive our town on the Internet for the first time!
"Looking online there there isn't anything about our town and its history, so this is the primary source for the history and stories for the city."
